Call for all NZ students to study Te Reo

There are calls to make te reo Maori a core study subject in schools so “green shoots” of its increased use by children can be nurtured.  It comes after a New Zealand Council for Educational Research study found Christchurch, Taranaki and west and South Auckland kids were again using the language more often at home and in whānau places.
